Cleaning of the structure and the blades

To maintain the aesthetics of your outdoor installation and all the comfort it provides, good maintenance is necessary. This will guarantee the safety, aesthetic appearance and life span of your Biossun bioclimatic pergola.

You should clean your pergola at least twice a year (structure and slats). This frequency can be increased to 4 times a year depending on the environment of your home: salty, marine or pollution. For a perfect result, a wiping is highly recommended. It is also possible, for a lighter cleaning, to simply rinse with clear water, using a garden hose. Rinse gently to dilute and eliminate chemical deposits and other residues that may be deposited on the structure and the blades.

The aluminum structure of Biossun pergolas can be cleaned with water (clear or with a neutral/soft detergent). To preserve the quality of the components of your pergola, do not use solvents, abrasive detergents, acids or alkalis, thinners such as acetone or trichloroethylene. Bleach and abrasive powders should also be avoided.
In order to preserve the longevity of your pergola, the use of a high pressure cleaner is strongly discouraged and not recommended.

Also remember to regularly check the gutters for clutter. Dead leaves and twigs in particular can be deposited there, especially in autumn and winter. Cleaning is easy in case of clogging. Simply unclog and clean the rainwater drainage holes.

Cleaning the lighting

Keep the lighting up to your expectations, the unique design and the enhancement of your bioclimatic pergola with a careful cleaning of the optics of the spotlights and wall lights, as well as the Strip-LED. The latter can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth or wipe. Be careful not to spray any liquid directly on the optics of the spotlights or the wall lamps.

What to do in case of snow?

Although designed to withstand bad weather, your Biossun pergola should not suffer from heavy snowfall. To best protect it, remember to remove at least part of the snow. It is advisable to deactivate the rain sensor to leave the pergola in the open position. This will limit the accumulation of snow. Also, place the slats in a vertical position at 90°, to limit the weight they will have to bear.
It is important to know that the structure in the closed position can support up to 95 kg/m2 of load at the center of the slats, on the maximum lengths.

What to do in case of rain?

A true outdoor space with unparalleled comfort, your Biossun bioclimatic pergola offers you the privilege of using it in all seasons.
Indeed, even outside of the summer months, when the slats are in the closed position, Biossun bioclimatic terraces provide very effective protection against bad weather. Thanks to the associated rain sensor, the slats can close automatically.
During a rain shower, rainwater is directed into the gutters of the structure's beams via the slats for perfect control of rainwater drainage.
